Working with only black or sepia ink, printmakers will learn an art form beloved by Edgar Degas and Paul Gauguin in which an abstract or figurative image is developed out of a dark-covered field of ink. Using rags, fingers, brushes, q-tips, and other simple tools students will carefully remove ink to make beautiful and haunting fine art prints using Studio 55’s professional Takach printing press.

The instructor, Ronna Leon was raised in a family of printers and publishers and has a life long love of paper and ink. She has been a printmaker for over 50 years and always enjoys exploring and sharing new methods and techniques with her students.
