BESPOKE APPAREL DESIGN, EMBROIDERY & TINY INTIMATE INK FIGURES

I am both Artist and Designer.  I have had a lifetime of trying to figure it out for myself.  Out of necessity and the desire to wear clothing with style, garments were deconstructed and then reconstructed into something more beautiful – an early practitioner of upcycling.  Art teachers would spent a little more time with my Mum, a gifted Artist in her own right.

More formally, I have an Advanced Level in Art with Art History from Abingdon College, a college set in the heart of the British countryside.  My senior thesis delved into the history of ladies’ attire during the period when the Royal Academy was established and ladies’ had little say in matters of importance.  The esthetic, for the rich, was beautiful and gowns were fitted with exquisite precision.  These same standards are found in couture today.

After a detour in Biochemistry, a Doctorate, 13 years of scientific research and a break to raise three beautiful children, I have returned to my first love – art and design.

My work, currently, is in bespoke apparel design, embroidery and tiny intimate ink figures.  I am exploring almost-2-dimensional art, combing paint, fabric and embroidery.

What Science and Art have in common is awe of the beauty of Nature.

To be inspired by Nature is to manifest beauty.  To honor Nature is our duty of care.
