CALL FOR ARTISTS

Studio 55 Martinez is excited to invite you to submit to exhibit your works at the gallery.

“Faces & Figures” is an opportunity for you to display your interpretation of art that depicts the human face and figures. Show will be juried by Jill Landau. 

Eligibility: This exhibition is open to all emerging and established artists of the Bay Area.

Medium: painting, drawing, printmaking, watercolor, oil, acrylic, collage, ink, pencil, mixed media, digital art, photography, fiber and textile art, and sculpture.

Submission guidelines:

a. Artist may submit up to 3 pieces of artwork in any medium ($20 flat fee)

b. Digital submissions must be high-resolution PNG, JPEG, or TIFF files, well-lit, clear photos or scans.

Dates & deadlines:

a. Submission deadline April 30, 2026

b. Approval/decline notices will be sent out on May 4, 2026

c. Drop off on or before May 13, 2026 

d. Show will be on exhibit from May 15th - July 8, 2026

d. Reception Saturday, May 16, 2026  1-4 pm

e. Pick up July 9 & 10 , 2026 during gallery hours.

Fees & sales agreement:

a. Non-refundable $20 submission flat fee

b. 25% commission (to gallery) upon sale of artwork.

c. 75% of art sales to artist, paid by check, or third party wire-transfer (venmo or paypal) at the end of the exhibition

Work must be “installation ready”: 

a. Work must be framed or gallery-wrapped and ready for hanging

b. Flat D-ring, hardware, or wire must not be visible.

c. Work must be ready to hang with a wire or D-ring. If that's not possible, please contact the gallery to discuss alternative hanging options.

d. Work must be clean and the frames in good condition

e. Unframed canvas and panels must have gallery-wrapped sides with no staples visible.

The Artist's homeowner's or renter's insurance should cover any possible damage or loss to the artwork while it is outside the home. Please check the policy to insure any damage to artwork will be covered.

Studio 55 Martinez reserves the right to use images of art for marketing purposes.

Artists are invited to attend the reception and invite family and friends. Studio 55 will provide beverages for the reception. Artists should promote the exhibition and reception on their social media and via word of mouth. Artists can pick up flyers for the show to distribute.
